
This newsletter gives an update on what's happening in Mississauga Kerala Association (MKA). It reaches more than 800 people. Please forward this to your friends and new comers. Soccer Tournament
This year Mississauga Kerala Association (MKA) participated in the 2nd annual soccer tournament organized by Toronto Malayalee Samajam. Mississauga Titans representing MKA reached the final rounds in their first attempt itself. Their goal is to win the trophy next year. Vallamkali
'Kalladayar Chundan' represented Mississauga Kerala Association in the Canadian Nehru Trophy Vallamkali 2011 organized by Brampton Malayalee Samajam. This year the MKA Team won the second prize. In 2010, the team won the trophy for Best Performance. In both 2010 and 2011, Jala Kesari from New York won the first prize. Kalladayar Chundan is determined and confident to win the first prize next year. Team Photos can be seen on this page .
Onam Celebration
Last week MKA celebrated Onam at the Micheal Power Secondary School in Etobicoke. It was a well attended program with quality entertainment items. Saravana Bhavan catered the Ona-Sadhya for the attendees and everybody enjoyed the food. Onam photos are posted on the web-site.
Gymnasium and Badminton
The Gymnasium at Edenrose School, 1342 Edenrose St., Mississauga opens on Monday Sept. 19 for the 2011-2012 season. The allotted time is from 8 pm to 10 pm. Those who are interested in playing Badminton, Basket Ball or Cards can participate and it is a free service provided by Mississauga Kerala Association. Please see the MKA site for the schedule.
Kerala Piravi 2011
Brampton Malayalee Samajam is hosting this year's Kerala Piravi celebration on Saturday Nov. 5, 2011. Please mark your calendar to celebrate Kerala Piravi on that evening. It is a joint program by the Kerala/Malayalee associations of Toronto and surroundings. Selected programs from these associations will be presented at that time. Details of the venue and other information will be broadcasted by the organizing committee later.
Childrens' Festival and Christmas Program
As in the previous two years, Mississauga Kerala Association will be organizing the Childrens' Painting competition in the 2nd half of November. The date and venue will be announced as soon as it is available.
Christmas celebration is also being planned for this year. Details will be announced later.
