MKA News Update

Mississauga Kerala Association would like to thank all the artists who performed for the Spring Fiesta program and all the people who attended the program. We received several compliments commenting on the excellent quality of the items from those who attended the program.


Family Picnic

Mississauga Kerala Association will be holding their Family Picnic on Saturday June 19, 2010 starting at 10a.m. . The events will include lunch, sports and games, dinner and sing-along. The preliminary details are given below:

  • Venue: Centennial Park (location #7), 56 Centennial Park Rd (On the corner of Rathburn Road and Renforth Drive). Please refer the map for location #7.
  • Time: 10a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Cost: $12.00 for members
    $15.00 for non members
    Children(6-12): $6.00
    Children under 6: free
Sports and Games include:

  • Boys' Running Race
  • Girls' Running Race
  • Musical Chairs
  • Dodgeball
  • Tug-of-War
  • Candy Picking: kids under 5
  • Sac Race
  • '56' Card Game
  • more items to be included

Lunch and Dinner:

The food items are not finalized but will be similar to the list given below:

  • Lunch (11.30am - 1.30pm): Idiyappam,Stew, Hamburgers, hotdogs and green salad.
  • Dinner (5.30pm - 7.30pm): chicken (BBQ), Macaroni salad, Chappathi and Channa.
  • Dessert: Payasam

Please come and enjoy the picnic with your family and friends. It is a great opportunity to meet members of our community and have some good out-door fun. Please tell your friends as well.

George Kochery's Funeral

This information was sent by John Abraham and is a public announcement for those who know George Kochery.

  • Funeral Mass: at 10 am Wed. May 26th at St. Joseph,s Catholic Church, 5440 Durie Road, Mississauga.
  • Burial: Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens, 3164 9th Line, Oakville (Hwy 403 and Dundas Street), Oakville L6H 7A8 (after the funeral mass).
George passed away at 10.30 am on Sunday May 23rd at the Credit Valley Hospital at the age of 45. He is survived by his wife Annies Kochery and son Joel Kochery. He was suffering from lung cancer. George was born and brought up in Bangalore and both his parents are from Kerala.
